We have stayed at POFQ before but not riverside. Which is better Alligator Bayou or the mansions? I requested alligator bayou. I love the pic's of it. I know we could end up in one of the mansions though. Any info on both will be helpful.

The first time we went I wanted to stay close to the lobby yand food court, but it was full; they gave us Building 25 instead, and we now request it every time we go. It's near a quiet pool which we love, and a great bus stop. The walk to the food court is peaceful and beautiful; we usually see bunnies and birds and ducks.

I've stayed in the mansions once with a couple of girlfriends, and that was fun, too; beautifully decorated for Christmas.

    Have fun!

The disadvantages to Alligator Bayou is that the paths to/from the Food Court can be very, very confusing and small chidren can easily get lost. And depending on where you building and room is your party is going to be hiking it in to the food court. The disadvangates to Magnolia Bend is that the 3 buildings are designed differently than Alligator Bayou and in at least one building all the air conditioning units are located on the first floor which I found it noisy staying in a 1st floor room. Alligator Bayou does not have any elevators so if your in a 2nd floor room your going to have to carry your luggage up and down stairs. To my knowledge Magnolia Bend has elevators. Alligoator Bayou has rustic decor similuar to the Wilderness Lodge and cheaper than the Wilderness Lodge. Magnolia Bend's rooms reminded me of staying at a Marriot. Overall the resort is unbelievably quiet as it is surrounded by golf courses on two sides.

Magnolia Bend is much more rustic, with room decor that makes the beds look like they were cut from real logs. Other than location it all depends on which theming works better for you - rustic outdoors or graceful mansions.

Things were very clean and people were very nice. I also think you should pick based on what themes you like.

I think you mean Alligator Bayou, not Magnolia Bend.

I've only stayed in Alligator Bayou. The decor is not my style but the room was nice enough. I have a feeling I'd prefer Magnolia Bend decor better but I do like the outside atmosphere at Alligator Bayou.

The mansions sound really nice, so if we do end up there I won't be disapointed. I am a light sleeper so I hope we get a quiet room. I can't wait till June!

June is still better than July-Sept., but as a west coaster, I do recommend winter/spring best of all.
