Nothing is happening, everything is sitting around in poor shape, and the best thing we have the look forward to is that horrid Stitch show.

And please don't tell me they added another triangle to SSE. I'll smack you.

Starting in the early 90s Disneyland was just about dead in the water. It seemed like everything was happening in Florida. There was open jeering at how old and tired Walt's original Magic Kingdom looked. All attention was on the fabulous new hotels, fabulous new atttractions, and fabulous new parks that were opening in Walt Disney World. The nadir was the announcement that Disneyland's 50th Birthday would be marked with FOUR NEW ATTRACTIONS... for Walt Disney World!

But now the worm has turned. The real question (to my mind, anyway) is this: How far will they let things slide at WDW until they start to turn it around. I don't mean to sound discouraging, but just remember how bad things were out here in Anaheim around 2000-2005. That may be where it has to sink before real action is taken.

    (But I hope not.)

I don't know how you consider things slow at WDW. They raise the prices on food, and beverages almost weekly now.

Disney likes to think of this as a conservative approach during a recession. We all really know this is corporate talk for we are going to invest as little as we can get away with until the rubes finally catch on to us, and stop feeding Mickey their money.

My feeling is we will have a long wait for better times.

David Koenig did a great article a month back on Mousplanet that talks about the fact that World Showcase wont get a new country because unless it has a major attraction it will not add attendance to the park. Also Disney no longer looks at individual parks in its long term planning. They know that if they build one attraction in one park they can market it to get people to come to WDW and once they are here they will visit the other parks anyway due to the way ticketing is set up.

You sound like a bleeding heart liberal.

They're a business and have every right to charge whatever the market will bear.

    Are you a Commie?

Yeah. Just what I thought. You just want them to spend, spend, spend. It almost makes me want to turn on Glen Beck and cry too because ... (starting to whimper ... ooh ... there's a sob coming ... there it is!) I just love my country so much. And that Obama is going to turn us into a SOCIALIST state.

I wonder what Disney will do for excitement when they get these 'three' DVC resorts done (and they pretty much are).

~Oh let's see if we can get someone from the fan sites to take pics of UoE's new paint job!~

I just like when it comes from others and not the usual suspects (LIKE ME!)

But the discontent on another MAGICal realm gets shouted down by fanbois or disappears by someone who claims to be 'The Mom' but in no way is my mom because I asked her and she said 'No, it's not me. Disney World has really let itself go. Is your friend (blank) still working for them?'

<<Am i the only one who thinks we need a WDW-blues type website again? >>

No. What we need is a change in direction at the top.

Isn't it time Jay Rasulo moved on to WalMart? Isn't it time Al Weiss resigned to devote more time to his family and church? Isn't it time Inoverherheadmeg became a Realtor in Windermere? Isn't it time Erin Wallace took a nice long vacation?

You know how we little people are constantly lectured by the upper class on the evils of unions? Well, they have their own union. Its informal, it doesn't have an official name. But when times like these pop up, they close ranks like the best labor union.

They take care of each other. At our expense.
