For me it was the fact that when I was little my mom and my aunt would take me to DL all the time. My childhood wasn't what I would say was a happy one, but to make things look better my mom would take my sister and I to DL. All of the problems that were going on seamed to be forgotten when we were there. Eveyone one was so happy and laughing.

When I got married I wanted my new DH to experence DL. And got him hooked. (from TX he had never gone) then in 04 we started going to WDW. (now living in OKC) We are exactly half way between DL and WDW. But find they we go to WDW only. I now have 3 children and they love Disney as much as I do.

I only get to go every other year, and when I go I love to relive the feeling that I had when I was little.

Please if you post here I don't want anything negitive. tell me why you go, what makes you keep coming back. If we didn't like it why keep going? Happy thoughts. thank you
    :)

Sorry if that violates your rule, but after all, this is a discussion board.

It is a great vacation experience.
In earlier years every attraction was geared to the whole family. In the last ten years, most of the new attractions were thrill rides. Not everyone can handle them.
The only thing that keeps me from going there is the prices that keep going up as the value decreases.
    I STILL LOVE THE PLACE.

I love to go to DL because of the Walt Disney personal attention to his dreams and I "visit" with my family since we always tend to go there. (We are all passholders obviously). When I go to WDW I usually go by myself. I love both resorts and wish I could visit all of them around the Worlds. I also find emotionally it is the only place I actually allow myself to have fun.
My grandchildren are in the Dallas Fort Worth area so occassionally I drive thru your big city on I-35. I usually stay near Moore,Ok. I love that huge movie theatre and always have to take a rest stop to see a movie if possible. THe castmembers actually wear white gloves and hand out a mint as you exit your viewing. ( Always makes me think of the Disney standards only better) I can't remember the name of that chain right now. <That would be a good topic to start Current places of business that still show Disney standards or better!>
Anyway I hope others post their feelings as sincerely! Have a good Monday

You have no idea how much pleasure a witch can get from standing in line with a sweaty hunk dressed in pants that look like they were painted on. And if, by chance, he should brush up against me or catch me when I fein a faint, so much the better!

Mickeymouseclub, I think you were talking about the Warren theatre.

EE, I guess I wasn't trying to put rules into a discussion. I'm just tried of all the neg. on the topics. we must still love the place or we wouldn't be Disney fans.

I like all the good feelings that we share on why we like WDW. It puts a smile on my face.

But seriously, just when I got a little tired of trekking to Disney the kids came along and now I'm going again but with fresh eyes. It had been a long time since I rode Small World and enjoyed it...but hearing my 4 year old sing the song had me feeling like a kid again.

Very true, and a good point. Most people would have given up by now!

But yes, I think the people here really do love Disney, still, after all this. :)

It's only way I can get a good value for what's being offered.

True story: had the chance to go to the parks this week and chose not to. I mean, really--other than spending time with family and friends (which I can do away from WDW)--what's the draw? Seeing Ancient EO? Or Thomas Edison's Electrical Parade? What rides are there that I haven't seen a hundred times? I have very little interest in visiting parks that have gotten to be so stagnant--or if I wanted to be upbeat I'd say "retro" (though if they've never changed from their ca. 1995 condition, it's not really fair to call them retro--more like "outdated").

Oops, I see negativity isn't welcome in this thread.

Ok: I go because I love the magic in the Fantasyland bathrooms!

    [Whatever that means.]

I understand about the outdated part, for me that is what makes me still smile. It's what I share with my kids. I see how they react to the same attrations that made me happy as a kid. I will say that I wish that Mr. toads Wild Ride was still at WDW. Or that WDW had the attration Alice in Wonderland that DL has. All in all I'm happy with my trips that we do every other year.

Same here. Otherwise, it's too expensive and not worth it.

As much as I love the place, it is a lot of money.

After a fun week long trip to WDW this spring, I am taking time off from WDW until 2013. I will be going to week long DL trips in 2011 and 2012 instead to see all their new additions.

Maybe by 2013 WDW will have something new for me to see (at least FLE will be done in some form by then).
