Obviously this is someone who thought The Warriors was a documentary.

And these costumes definitely seem a little rave-ey to me. I know that there's always going to be the drug associations with Alice, but it's interesting that they're not shying away from that culture with the costume designs. And Alice herself just looks creepy (and way too old). Hopefully the final product will look better.

This new Alice gig looks very 80's inspired. Other than FALLING IN REVERSE or THE DARKNESS, who really dresses like that anymore?

But, I am not going to judge fully until I actually experience it. Who knows, this may be super fun. Or a super flop. Only time will tell.

Actually they look more 90s to me. Either way, I'm assuming a retro rave look was the objective.

Not so sure about this theme though. Unless the music is really good I don't thing they'd go back for it.

    Shout (The Isley Brothers)
    Hot Hot Hot (Buster Poindexter)

    Locomotion (Little Eva)
    Call Me (Blondie)
    Get The Party Started (Pink)
    Dancing Queen (ABBA)

This is the sort of generic dance pop that gets played by cover bands at corporate parties around the globe - very tame yet recognizable and the kind of music that should have everyone dancing. Of course the win or fail will depend on the talent and skill of the people on stage.

I mean, sure I used to dress that way in the 80's. When I worked at a metal club. Before Nirvana invaded.

Yeah, that's the problem. The current DJs aren't exactly cutting edge, but they're still a huge step up compared to "generic dance pop that gets played by cover bands at corporate parties". This is a set list that would work in the tradition of Tomorrowland nighttime entertainment. What I liked about ElecTRONica, and even Glowfest, was that it was a different option to the blandness that Tomorrowland offered.

"yeah, I showed them the list. they think it's a little odd.... they're in the 15 - 20 y.o. category and they think it seems focused more on younger kids."

And their parents. Maybe even more their parents than the kids. Almost all of that setlist is from the previous millennium, isn't it? It's like tuning into an oldies station.

Funny, I like most of the songs in the setlist, but I hate it as a whole. Some of those sprinkled in a set would be great. Or some remixes. But a cover band playing that set? Yawn.
