In the past there have been reality-style shows like Fame Academy Does Comic Relief (think American Idol with celebrities that can't sing) but this year they opted for a new show called Let's Dance for Comic Relief where celebrities opt to recreate famous dance sequences from movies, TV, musicals and music videos. The winner of the first show was Robert Webb who is a wonderful comic (I can't recall if any of his shows are on BBC America but they include Peep Show and the Mitchell and Webb Look) and he opted for What A Feeling. This is television comedy gold - I honestly haven't laughed so hard in ages: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...6k5Zg2wA The winners tonight were also two comics who reproduced I've Had the Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...=channel I can't remember if BBC One shows are on the iPlayer internationally but the whole show is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/e...isode_2/ Enjoy! Funny, yes! But these guys are also surprisingly good dancers! I had no idea that this competition/charity existed. How fun! Thanks for sharing, leemac!

Originally Posted By davewasbaloo Comic Relief and Red Nose day are one in the same. Both of these drives include local events and teaming agreements with various companies for special products to raise funds. The money is then used for local charities (often things like hospices, domestic violence centres, mental health etc.) and international efforts in war zones and aids zones (e.g. Africa etc.) I have had the wonderful honor of managing a number of the call centres over the years where they would get us as the top brass to work the phones, good times (personal total best when I was on the phones, which was 30% of my time was £98,000 or $150,000).

Both are awesome charity drives and I have wonderful memories both watching and participating in both over the years.
