They are lucky enough to live nearby or travel frequently to WDW and it's to bad they tire of Disney Decorations adorning castles or older parades that they have seen 100 times.... or shows they feel need to be updated... etc... Those few individuals need to remember that many many visitors are looking forward to seeing the 50th Anniversary Castle decorations.. See shows for the first time etc... Instead of using their knowledge of the parks to help, they only scare visitors away from seeing a attractions that they might of enjoyed had they not be told that it was not good or boring... Please do not pass up anything based on others negative comments....

You don't need to go to DL to find things to do for the 50th.. Though I'm sure they have their share of visiters at DL. Read Below... Beginning May 5, 2005, and extending for 18 months through 2006, the event will take place in all of the Disney theme parks around the world, with the premiere of exciting new shows and attractions at Disneyland Resort, California; Walt Disney World Resort in Florida; Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan; and Disneyland Resort Paris in France and the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland. WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT (Lake Buena Vista, Fla.) Walt Disney World Resort pays tribute to 50 years of Disneyland and Disney theme park magic around the world with its most over-the-top event ever. Each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks will feature an incredible attraction or show imported from Disney's parks around the globe -- plus a unique new attraction will be created just for the Florida resort. Guests at Magic Kingdom will see a favorite princess begin her "happily-ever-after" life during the magnificent, musical coronation of "Cinderellabration," direct from Tokyo. At Epcot, guests will take flight over the Golden State with the opening of "Soarin'," based on the hit Anaheim attraction. The secrets behind Hollywood's most astounding stunts will be revealed in the high-octane "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show" at Disney-MGM Studios, direct from Paris. At Disney's Animal Kingdom -- from out of the secret labs of Walt Disney Imagineering -- will come Lucky the dinosaur, the first-ever free-roaming Audio-Animatronics figure. Later in the celebration year, Expedition EVEREST will take guests to thrilling new heights in a runaway mountain train.

You just got to look around them. If anything does happen and you are unhappy, Disney will always take care of you no matter what. They have always come through for my family and i. I wish all you first timers the best of luck, say hi to Mickey for me and tell him I will be there as soon as I can! I know he just misses me to peices! LOL! *thumbs up*

My vast intellect tells me that that's just under SEVENTEEN months.

There is NO celebration going on at DLP, TDL or HKDL in regards to DL's 50th. I know because I visit these parks quite often in my travels. WDW is using the 50th anniversary excuse to pump their own numbers and tout their own new attractions. You will not find a "Happiest Celebration on Earth" banner anywhere in the World except WDW. Even DL's banners read "Happiest Homecoming on Earth".

They did it for WDW's 25th...lasted half way thru their 26th!!!

Originally Posted By danyoung >Does anyone actually believe that the so-called negative things that are posted here really affect if someone is going to plan a trip to WDW or even factor in to their enjoyment of the trip once they are they get there?< I have to say from personal experience that yes, it can have an effect. Years back, when I first started reading Al Lutz's writings, I was convinced that DL was in incredibly bad shape, and was prepared for the worst on my next visit. Imaging my surprise when I came through the train tunnels and found . . . an amazing place full of beauty, wonder and magic! Sure, some of the trashcans needed painting, and sure, the thatched roof of the Tiki Room was a bit threadbare, and sure, some attractions had closed with nothing new opening in the near future. But it's just so easy for most people to look beyond that and really enjoy the place that they've grown up loving and dreaming about. That's why I get a little miffed at my friend TDLFAN, who is always and only comparing the current MK to either past MK's or to current TDL. I'm sure he's absolutely correct in his comparisons, but to say that the MK is old and tired and dirty and full of rude CM's is just not true. I visit far more often than the average guest, although not as often as TDLFAN, and I have no problem putting on the rose colored glasses and seeing only what I want to see, and can totally enjoy a visit. When I read about how far the MK has fallen, I now take it with a HUGE grain of salt. And to TDLFAN and WDW1974 and others of that mindset, keep the criticism coming, and keep holding Disney's feet to the fire. But you might slack off a bit on the first time visitor - let them see the magic through their own eyes, not yours.

The times I have been to the MK on days when I have found the park clean and CMs have been admirably wonderful, I have mentioned that on LP and on my photo captions as well.. Show me exactly where I have said that the MK is "full of CMs and dirty ALL OF the time".. But I am not going to apologize for saying that the MK does need more TLC and it is the most park in need of upgrades, inside and out, and that's based on my experiences with the other 4 MK parks out there. The differences are obvious. You just need to get out more often and see what I am seeing. Anyone who defends the MK as this wondrous and totally rocking experience, simply doesn't know any better. Sadly, I do... and forgive me for sounding conceated ont his.

So no, I am not down on the MK and it's CMs all the time. You just care to see the negative side of my postings ALL of the time and that's your problem Danno.
