Over at disney world they have this problem. it is a low capacity attraction and fastpass does not work on it. Didn't do much for pirates way back when. Fastpass works great for people eater attractions like space mountain and california screamin, etc.

Now I go to disney and no one wants to wait more than 20 minutes tops!

Originally Posted By lesmisfan well they probably wanted it to be more fast pace than buzz and stopping at each game would not be plausible with a omnimover because of how slow they are. the only thing about omnimovers is they are constantly moving which makes for a great ride capacity.

I also don't think it's true that a standby line will double in its wait time. It'll move much slower, true. But with FP people will see a 45 minute standby line and opt for FP. But then, I do agree that it didn't work well on Pirates, and once they took it out the line has rarely been longer than 20 minutes or so.

They added FP to Pirates around 2000 or so, when they were adding it all over the park (Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Indiana Jones, Roger Rabbit, Haunted Mansion and Autopia all got it around the same time). The machines were through the bridge entrance to POTC, on the left side, under the trees. The standby queue used the right side of the queue, and the FP queue used the left side. I'm not sure exactly when they took the machines out, but I think it was around 2004, in the preparrations for the 50th.
