You are given a "reservation" in line, and if you do not return in time for it, then you should have planned for its use. Planning takes maybe 3 mins while standing in line. As far as mugs go, Disney charges $12 for em, Its very difficult to get your worth out of it on a trip since you have to go to the main house to fill it up. The face that you have to buy one at each location makes it fair in my opinion, and if Disney wanted to avoid the problem of people bringing back mugs, they should just come up with a new one every 3-6 months.

The small percentage of people who bring their mugs are never going to truly turn a profit in their mugs, I.E. drink $9.50 on soda. I like the mug designs for the most part, but I wish their was more variance within their designs from year to year, to make them worth collecting.
