Our goal was to be at rope drop at the Magic Kingdom at 9 AM. We were going to finish the day at Epcot (MK closed at 7) so we parked at Epcot, took the monorail to the TTC, rode in front, yay! then took another monorail to the MK & got to the gates at 9 AM. Almost made it. I forgot how long it takes to get around in WDW. We couldn't go through the castle today because they had a show starting that they would be filming for the Christmas day special, so we had to walk around through Liberty Square. We rode Peter Pan, said good morning to Mr Grumpy operating the ride, lol, I liked it much better than the DL ride, I just missed all the stars in the Neverland room. Small World next, then Snow White & it doesn't have the abrupt ending, the story actually made sense. Saw Philharmagic, cute show. Rode Pooh & we broke down every 30 seconds during the ride, lol, lights would come on, announcement made, ride would start, then it would break down again. Aye yi yi. Tea cups were next we got them to spin pretty fast! Next was Mansion, I forgot how you head underground rather than up on the porch like at DL. I really liked it, it's much darker than DL's & longer too. We ate at Columbia House. Rich & I split a fish & chips basket, & a bowl of clam chowder. It was REAL good. We saw Hall of Presidents, the girls enjoyed it believe it or not, Country Bears, it was so good to see them again, but their audio system needs refurb, you could "bear"ly hear the host bear. We then got FP for Big Thunder (30 min wait) & rode Splash with a 5 min stand by. Is that backwards to DL or what? Splash was so much nicer! The logs were roomy, the ride way longer & moved slower, we just happened to get splashed & soaked by a log going down the large drop in the very beginning of the ride. We explored Tom Sawyers Island for about an hour. The girls looked frantically for Tom & Huck's brushes, but alas, didn't find any. That was fun, the bridges, caves, the fort, so much to do here. Then we used our BTMRR Passes. The parade was just starting, so we watched it. Read we were trapped & couldn't cross. Cassie & Rachel enjoyed it. I snapped a pic of Mary Poppins cause she reminded me of Lisann22. Then we rode Pirates. As we entered we saw a pirate show & their Captain Jack was spot on. He looked so much like him, sounded like him, had the exact quirky movements. Perfect! Anyway, this was Rich, Rachel & Cassie's first time on since the "improvements" They all loved the addition of Captain Jack, Rich really loved the Davey Jones mist screen. I LOVED the queue, with tables, weapons, cannons, etc. Very cool. The DL ride is far superior, but I really loved WDW's queue. We stopped for a potty break & when we came out of the stall there was a woman on the floor, someone was helping her, but there was blood all over the floor, so I quick grab Cassie & we ran to the nearest CM to get help. On the way back to meet Rich, we saw "the dream team" we put on our best smiles, but alas did not get picked. We saw Tiki Room, man, what an awful show. It's downright sickening to watch. Iago & Zazu, blech. What were they thinking? Then rode the Magic Carpets (aka Dumbo) & Jungle Cruise. DL is way nicer since the refurb at DL. By then it was time for our reservations at the Crystal Palace. I asked the lady at the door where I check in for my PS. She looks dead pan & says "round the corner" LMAO, most CM's we ran into were like this, emotionless robots. Dinner was very good, buffet with prime rib, salads, pastas, etc. We left at 7 PM as the Very Merry Christmas Party was starting. We got on the monorail & headed to the TTC, changed monorails to go to Epcot. There was a problem with the monorail & they had to shut down the system for a few minutes then reboot. Finally we were off. We had wanted to see Candlelight processional with Mario Lopez, but we were too late, It started at 8:15 & we didn't get there until 8:30, it was packed & more than 1/2 way through. It was beautiful & Rich was kicking himself that he turned down the dinner/preferred seating for the show. We headed home & were in bed by 10 PM, getting enough sleep for another busy/fun day.
