There wasn't anything new to be learned--thus far--and my sisters and I don't understand why the person writing it claims that Ariel was the first 'real' Disney princess ever created. What a slap in the face that comment is to Snow White, Cinderella, Princess Aurora and, especially to Walt Disney! Is there no more reverence or respect left for the man who started it all? ORWEN: As much as I like Ariel, Belle and Jasmine, I much prefer the more subdued and subtle princesses created by Uncle Walt. There will never be any other princesses who come close to their innocence. I'm afraid Rapunzel will turn out to be the sort who reminds me more of the real world instead of inviting me to forget about it the way Disney's 3 orginal fairy tale heroines did. And that's the point that a lot of modern script writers forget to do with a period piece; they forget to inject that special quality of 'Once upon a time in a land far, far away'...
