The shell on top that Ariel sits on was extended all the way up, like it did during the show stops early on. It stopped doing this a while ago (around the time the 50th ended??) and I just assumed it was going to be permanent, but it looks like they are at least trying to get it back to how it was.

Today, the fountains were working on Ariel's float and the plastic rods were removed. Also the jumping flowers stilts are cut from the Alice unit until their new costumes arive. Other then that, nothing significantly new, now new characters, no different costumes, no silver banners, and NO PRINCES!!!!

BTW, it was running smoothly a couple of days later.

Mr. F ... I'll miss the jumping flowers stilts. Hope their costumes arrive by May.

See had to take her fin off infront of the eyes of hundreds of guest, including children, and exposed her legs underneath. she then had to throw down an emergenmcy ladder and climb down, while hundreds of camera flashes went off. She was then given a jacket to cover her, I belive, and was then escorted to a backstage room to hide. I belive thw float driver had to evacuate as well and a tote was brought out to take the float for the rest of the route. No one was hurt I believe.

Latter after the Parade, Ariel was ascorted back to the parade build via on stage, with a towel covering her head so no one would notice.

We were just past the first parade stop, on Matterhorn Way. You could tell everyone was confused. The fairies started mingling with the crowd. Unfortunately we were just a smidge up further where Alice would have her second parade stop so we didn't get to interact with them. All parade stops were cancelled after that for the rest of the parade.

Believe it or not, Parade mishaps happen all the time! Just last year, Gepetto broke in half and the Pinocchio unit had to go out without it's float. Just the other day one of the Bungee Acrobats broke her nose on the float while doing her flips and they had to cut the rest of the show stops and cover her with a jacket for the rest of the route to hide her bleeding. She is fine, but it goes to show that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong with a parade!

And by the way she told the children the next day that scuttle came to see her and saw that her float had smoke coming from it, so her flew as fast as he could to her father and said she needed legs right away and he gave them to her and that is how she got legs so fast. Let's not ruin the magic for everyone.

They added little strobes to the castle (similar to what's in the Mickey planter at the entrance), which I thought was a really neat touch. They sparkle at a couple different moments during the show, but the one that I thought was really cool, was as Tinkerbell was taking her first flight the castle was dark (she only got one that night), and then they sparkled in sequence from left to right, and the lights on the castle turned on in the same fashion. It was a pretty simple effect, but it was really really cool.

As for the parade changes, from what I could tell, it's mostly the same. The jumping flowers were gone, and it seems like we've probably seen the last of the princes. The Ariel float was completely functional, which hasn't happened in a long time. The water was flowing on both levels, and the fish carousel behind the trickles was spinning as well. I didn't see it up close, but it did appear that the lift was working again for the show stops (I saw the first one from the hub, and she was near the music store on Main Street. It looked like she was a lot higher than the rest of the float, and I could see some of the colors on the inside of the shell)

I was facing the Plaza Inn, so he was around the corner from me, and I couldn't really see him, so I don't know if he was being as perky as usual.

As for performing for nobody, why don't they just move the construction wall? They could make the path go staight to Toontown, and have it cross the path over to the Light Magic platform. Then, the parade could turn where it usually does, and go 'offstage' there. But I guess they would have to keep the gate open for the whole thing, so people would still be able to see the parade passing through, which would mean they would have to stay in character anyway...
