And what are the "must see"s? Also is there anywhere to have a nice sit-down meal? I'm having a look at the official website, but I thought someone might be able to offer some more personal insights. Thanks for any help!

Sadly, I don't think any of the restaurants are worth the trip there, but that's only because the menus emphasize chinese cuisine, of which I am not fond of. However, some restaurants have a nice ambiance to them.. like the Plaza Inn, or Corner Cafe on Main Street. Everything else is cheap food court style service and setups. Personally, I would trek over to the Hollywood Hotel and enjoy a meal at the Chef Mickey Restaurant. Park hours usually are from 10-8pm or so, and trust me.. that is *plenty* of time to enjoy ALL of the parks attractions and entertainment.

Spend as much time in Hong Kong as possible!! Now, THAT will keep you busy (and interested). Have fun

And, Hong Kong is awsome by itself...you'll have an awsome trip! I'm so JEALOUS!

Make sure you see the lion King, and the Golden Mickey's. Check the time for the Stitch encounter in English when you get to the park. My experiences have been that they only have 30 min to 1 hour of Stitch in English, and if the park is busy you might not get to see it.
Originally Posted By Loomis I pretty much agree with what has been said thus far. If you spend a whole day in the park, you will have pretty much covered everything you need to do. At the most, 1.5 days if you are someone who simply likes to take their time and soak up the atmosphere. I guess the difference between HKDL and some other parks is that there is a large number of "theatre style" attractions in comparison to the other types of rides. You have Festival of the Lion King; PhilharMagic; Golden Mickeys and Stitch Encounter, all of which take much longer than your average 3 minute ride. Even so, I still think it can easily be done in a day. I agree with the suggestions that the rest of the city should be tackled on different days, as you really want to be there from rope drop to fireworks. http://www.hkdlsource.com

And if I’m doing HKDL for the first time I might as well do it right Thanks also for the link, Loomis – I’m going to go have a look now. I’m really looking forward to the trip!

HKDL is a 5-6 hour park at best on a slow day. Even on busier days, there is really not a big problem to do everything and then some within 8. Unless the park is open from 11-7 (don't know the hours now) there is NO reason to be there from rope drop to the fireworks. I know people think I am really against this park (and why I rarely post anymore ), but I was there on a slow day and maaaaan, I was soo bored after the 4th hour and that's the problem. But, I suggest if you do the entire day thing, then just hop on a bus and view the hotels as part of your day . I done that twice and that's pretty worth it actually. But agreed, CAN'T miss the fireworks! Just show up around 1 or 2 and you should be fine .

The last thing I want to do is feel rushed to do it all!
