Has anybody on here tried this? What was the experience like? How much of a pain was scheduling? Also, if there's a particular store I'd like to work in, would I be able to apply there, or would I apply to the stores generally, or are all the CM's part of one big applicant pool?

I was tired all the time and was dozing off at the wheel. Not good. It was fun but not a good match with my current schedule. As for stores, they might ask if you have a preference of what area you want to work in but not a specific store. I worked Main Street and I could work at any of the stores (although I preferenced The Emporium). Good luck if you decide that is something you want to do. ~Beth

CRs can plan their schedules and preference certain shift start and end times, their locations and their requirements are a bit lenient: must be fully available on Saturday and Sunday, available after 6:00PM (18:00) on Fridays, and must be fully available during Peak Seasons (Summer, Spring Break, Winter, etc.) That would be more or less the route you'd want to go, I think..

Its not worth it to me. YMMV. ~Beth ~Beth

The OPs in DTD like Build a Bear or Something Silver are more flexable with their employees. Working for an OP is sometimes better. Your green ID will still get you into the park for free you just don't get sign ins unless your a manager. You do get discounts at the park and can visit Company D offsite. In September, October, January, February and May you only have to work weekends. But the rest of the year you basically need to be available 5 days a week. Disney makes it very clear via their Scheduling Department that they consider themselves the "Primary Employer", and that if you have a second job it should be second in priority to any requirements or business needs of Disneyland. Disneyland only makes a good second job if you are only part-time at the other job. If you've already got a 40 hour a week job somewhere else, it's going to be extremely difficult to try and also work at Disneyland.
