I have worked at the resort for more then a decade. I have to say that I found it disappointing that Disney has decided to get rid of the party. It was always a nice way to see coworkers, let off some steam and enjoy your place of work. I am sure someone who is visiting the resort during early December might have some concerns. However I would say that as a two theme park resort most if not all of our guests concerns would be mitigated by keeping DCA open late.

    What do you all think?

I think this is sad for Disneyland CM's though. Parties are not just about having free food and drink at the employer's expense, it is a moral builder and builds good feelings between the employer and the employees. This can't possibly be a good move on Disney's part. :(

Anyone who was at Disneyland/DCA yesterday evening and saw the hordes of people descending on Disneyland for the Halloween party, while DCA soaked up huge shoulder-to-shoulder crowds that even created lines for Little Mermaid and Bugs Land rides knows that TDA is lying through its teeth when it uses made-up lines about "changing guest patterns".

Corporate Disney cancelled the employee Christmas party to cut the budget, that's all this is. Why they insist on lying to the employees about it, when those same employees work in the parks that are brought to their knees by paid-options like the Halloween parties, is a mystery.

Someone in TDA's executive communications department must be very, very naive to think that type of bald-faced lie would actually be believed by the troops. They are either very stupid, or very unknowledgeable on how the parks work and what types of events they host.
