Honestly WWOHP is easliey going to win. It's a whole new land wih high tech rides, while nighttastic is just a new nightitme fireworks show and parade. Not really enough to bring in guests, of course the management at WDW will think Nighttastic was a huge hit if increse attendance occurs at the park, even if the attendance had nothing to do with Nighttastic.

I'm also looking forward to seeing WWOHP but I won't skip WDW to see it. I'm not sure why but Universal has never required repeat trips for me the way WDW does. Maybe this will change now but I doubt it.

WDW had to figure out the minimum number of dollars they had to spend to make that happen, and Nightastic fit the bill.

The only way HP "wins" over WDW is if a significant number of people checking out HP do NOT visit WDW while they're in town.

I'm sorry, but as a life-long Disney park fan, this is NOT the way that I want to see WDW conducting business. I understand that there are financial realities they have to worry about, but Disney should never be looking for the "minimum" amount that they can give us to get us to come back. Disney used to be known for being #1 in the industry - always innovating and coming up with the next great attraction. I just don't understand how the company that brought us Pirates, Mansion, EPCOT, etc has now turned into the company that tries to "get away with as little as possible and still get guests to come".

    It's just sad.

While the investment might be large, I just don't see what's so innovative and exciting about Cars Land. Like Harry Potter-land, it's just another re-creation of a world from some movie. It will no-doubt be fun, but it's not anything we haven't seen before.

I meant it in a general sort of way. Obviously the "themes" chosen are new to the theme park world, but like other "lands" before these, they are just taking an existing franchise - be it Harry Potter or Cars, and creating a themed-land around it. That's why I say it's nothing we haven't seen before - these are just two more lands based on a movie. I guess I'm just looking for something a little more innovative - but maybe I'm asking too much. I guess it's not an everyday occurance for someone to come-up with an original idea - like Disneyland or EPCOT were when originally concieved.
