It takes about 2 weeks to install, so it typically closes right after Halloween

To remove the overlay, they usually wait until the Haunted Mansion reopens after removing its overlay. That tends to be about the 3rd week of January

I am in the same boat too. I also miss the Space Mountain music instead of always seeing the Ghost Galaxy overlay which never seems to change. On the plus side I am looking forward to what the ginger bread house will be in the Mansion this year, so I guess there's that.

Haunted Mansion Holiday was cool for the first year or two but now, kind of tired. IMO
Small World Is really the only overlay that is a welcome for the Holiday season.

With The 60th celebration going on, I was kind of hoping they would give the overlays a rest for the year.

I have not seen the original mansion now, in over ten years. Total drag, and yes, the Holiday version lasts way too long.

If they're going to reburb IASW, I wish they'd make the beautiful Balinese goddess as mobile as she originally was. She only moves the slightest little bit now in what should be a really cool shadow puppet effect. And how many of you preferred the still, sparkling Taj Mahal pool to the wind-blowing cloth they have now?

I wasn't thinking of the overlay when I booked those dates. Too caught up in cheaper rates...
