I'm almost positive that it's been there from the beginning. WDW's Mansion was lenghthened slightly during the design phases. The piano playing shadow has always been one of my favorite effects in the ride. But, I'm sure they can do wonders with that same effect now making the shadow much more 'life'-like! What's always 'bugged' me most about the MK Mansion though, is those darn giant spiders. They've always looked so fake and out of place there, almost what you would find in a traditonal dark ride with black lights and flourescent paint. Can anyone enlighten us as to why they were put there? I'm pretty sure they were there from the beginning, also. Budget cuts? Lack of better ideas? Something else? I would love to see these removed and something a little more spectacular added in this area!

I remember my first visit to WDW's Mansion, having been on the original many times since my first visit in 1969. I was enjoying it, noting comparisons in my head, and then WHAM! came that spider scene right out of a shopping mall haunted house. I just couldn't believe they could have done something so tacky. And they haven't made any improvement in 35 years!!!
