God Bless the dear souls who have lost their lives while doing what they do best. They will be deeply missed.

The Feds are now going to investigate WDW's safety department: http://online.wsj.com/article/...833.html These two paragraphs from the article are quite telling: "The Disney spokesman said the park uses its own "rigorously trained" employee team, including engineers, to examine the safety of equipment and practices at Disney parks. Eleven months ago, the safety team was reorganized to combine employee and customer safety at Disney's parks and resorts. OSHA has launched five inspections of parts of Disney World in 2009, three because of the fatalities and two in response to complaints. In February, OSHA fined Disney $4,000 for violations related to exposed openings and electrical wiring. Walt Disney World employs some 60,000 people." Given the restructuring of WDW's "safety team," I find these fatalities troubling.

But I do know Disney has had serious issues with safety in transportation (rails, boats, buses) circles and many times they have really lucked out and had magic on their side in circumstances that could have been tragic. Now? Well, it doesn't seem like there's an endless supply of that after all.

What happened to Disney's attention to detail, attentions to security and safety? I want to work for this company and have for a long time but do I still want to with all this going on? Any suggestions as to what we can do as Disney fans/stockholders/guests?

And to think, when I said something similar a few months back when the monorail kid died, people acted like I had smeared my own excrement on Cindy's Castle. I guess all this sadly bears me out.
