So kick back for approximately 4 minutes, and let's all celebrate friendship.

Each of those ladies had her own charms, peccadilos and brand of humor that meshed so well with all the others. But I think that Betty White's character of Rose will always be my favorite.

I'm so glad that our younger LPers were able to see this authentic curmudgeonly post from our own LP curmudgeon, JohnS1.

Mine too, John...mine too. She's so sweet and sympathetic and naive and hilarious (though they all are, but she most for me); I NEVER get tired of good ol' St. Olaf.

I picked this as one of my first projects because this show is so special to me...Saturday nights when I was growin' up my sister and I would take our baths, get all clean 'n dried off in our big fluffy towels, and get our places on the living room floor as we watched "The Girls" with Mom 'n Dad behind us, she on the couch and he in his chair. Sis and I agree it was just the perfect "bath show"---soft colors, glowing lighting, comfy sets and familiar grandmother and "great aunt"-like characters (and we grew up with lotsa those in the family)---the best TV show to "curl up" with right after a nice hot bath.

And if we happened to be at my grandparents visiting (Dad's folks, the ones a mile away from us) on a Sat. night and the show was on, our conservative grandmother would sometimes turn 'n look at us during the show and say, "Sheww, they get so raunchy!" lol My sister and I fondly remember that, and still quote it to this day.

This is just one of the timeless shows in the canon of TV, and I'm thrilled to have it coming out in season DVD complete and unedited.

And now that people have read this mushy part, more o' y'all click on the dang link (I get paid 5 dollars for every person that clicks it---okay, I don't, but it took me 2 days to make and "business" is nice, lol)

Hmm, now if only the Emmys or Oscars would take eager amateurs to work for segments on their shows...

That's not the original artist who did the theme song singing in the audio track on this, is it?

'buda, the theme on the show was sung by a woman (Cynthia somebody I think), but it was actually written by the man you hear singin' it in my "film"---Andrew Gold ("Gold", how perfect, lol).
