Jim Hill talks about the plans WDW managers already have in place for dealing with guests who complain about the "take aways" that are now associated with this after-hours seasonal event at the Magic Kingdom.

I would suggest unhappy guests contact Phil Holmes and Erin Wallace.

Some may want to also complain about Disney's decision to extort money from guests who want to see the Christmas Parade prior to 12/23 without paying an extra $50 per person.

There is that and the fact that the parties used to be an extra way to experience Christmas at the Magic Kingdom now it is the only way to experience Christmas at MK before December 22. So whereas the other parks have all this holiday stuff going on MK has nothing that you don't have to pay extra for. If it wasn't for Epcot, WDW would be totally joyless during the holidays. I love the way DL does Christmas. You get snow, Holiday fireworks, HMH and IASW Holiday, better decorations and guess what you don't have to pay extra for it. What a concept.

For all the good Disney can do in a variety of ways...they sure can butcher the heck out of things too.

Nope, I do not think it is good for the guests at all. Instead of encouraging us to go to the party,it disuaded us and we are unlikely to return during the Christmas season again (unless there is a do not miss narrator for the CP at Epcot - we loved Marie Osmond!!!!)

But this is old news as they stopped giving away the photos last year.

Frankly, I GREATLY prefer EPCOT to the MK at Christmas time anyway.

If MVMCP were once a week, that would be fine, but it was on virtually every night the 1st two weeks of December.

Go to DL where the decorations and parades are 1000 times BETTER and FREE to EVERYONE. Just more Wal-Marting at WDW and another reason why the Florida MK just continues to disappoint me.

That being said, you are completely correct that there are far more Christmas themed areas to WDW. In fact I would say that the MK is the least Christmas themed area in the world. You can use a park admission and enjoy the festivities at EPCOT or MGM. Or, for free you can visit any of the numerous resorts and DTD. I would have to say that DTD has by far the greatest amount of decorations and its all FREE!!!! Not to mention that the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate shop is right there too ( and they give free samples ).

I attended last year and really enjoyed myself. People who waited 2 hours for the parade really did waste their money, but for the rest of us it was a chance to ride attractions with no lines and see lots of characters.

The parade and fireworks are excellent also. I'd probably pay if it was just those on offer!!!
