If the show gets cancelled, it would be tough to have the in-park attraction, since there would be no real prize for winning, and it would be celebrating something that wasn't popular enough to get renewed for another season. Perhaps they're taking a preemptive strike here (though that seems unlikely with TDO)

While Disney is at it, can we PLEASE get rid of Sounds Dangerous next door? That is one case where I would actually prefer to see the used as a Frozen Meet and Greet. Or a pin shop (even though there is one close by under the BAH). Or ANYTHING.

If American Idol actually closes, that gives them a very large piece of high-traffic real estate to work with, should they want to create something new. That building has roughly the same footprint as the Great Movie Ride's show building (excluding the queue), so there's plenty that could be done; I just hope that they don't completely destroy the charming architecture of it

Then I finally "got it"... it was an audio-only experience. While it was interesting the first couple of times to see how audio-only can create such vivid mental images, it had limited repeat-ability. It was exactly the same every time. I stopped bothering with it after the first two visits.... especially with all the squealing kids who hated the total darkness. On the other hand, with the audience participation Monster Sound was different every time. And the worse the guests did, the funnier the show was... it was great.

The truth is there is sense of doom at WDW since the press got a taste of Diago Alley. WDW has nothing to match the exquisite attention to detail and quality that Diagon Alley is bringing ti Universal Studios Florida. I think the imagineers are running back to the drawing boards. They know they simply can't compete with USF. I fing it extremely amusing that arrival passengers at OIA are being bombarded with great Harry Potter banners while Disney has NOTHING referencing their quaint little kiddy coaster in Fantasyland. That's very telling of a company that has no confidence in what they have in store for guests, even if they appear not to be concerned.
