But I read somewhere that there may be another West Coast Disney Cruise. Is that true???

Please tell me it is. :)

The rumour is one of the existing ships will be going back to Ports o Call, while this new ship is built. The new ship is rumoured to be able to better deal with inclement weather to manage Alaska cruises as well as the Mexian Riviera.

All of these are unconfirmed rumours, but they seem to be everywhere in cyber space. I do hope it proves true.

I know the Mediterranian Cruises are not going down nearly as well as they hoped. But at $8000 for my small family, that's more expensive than the American Cruises. And we have cheap flights, for most US passengers, it takes three flights to get to Barcelona.

A real shame. Anyway, let's watch this space.

#1 is definitely yes, in 2008. An administrator at the DIS (I'm assuming through Dreams Unlimited communications) said that they have gotten the word from Disney that the press announcement will be the 17th, with bookings started the 31st. And the Puerto Vallarta port authority has "D" listed on their docking schedule.

#2 There are rumors that there will be an announcement this month, along with the other rumors (Midway Madness, west coast DVC, etc). But there have been rumors of a new ship since the second one was built, so who knows.

Mexico was fun, but we've seen it and the Meditterrean is just way to expensive. The flight alone would cost me a bundle... But...if you've never cruised before, going on the DCL is absolutely the best!!!! ºoº

    Thanks again!

Even if they FINALLY approve the building of a third ship, it would take a while obviously to get it built. The Caribbean market is a strong one and thh Magic already splits it's time between Eastern and Western itineraries. I highly doubt they would pull a ship out to put it on the west coast without having one to replace it. Also the Wonder does very well with it's short 3 and 4 days cruises so I don't see them abandoning that market either.

I would love to plan a trip to CA in summer 2008 though to do DLR & a cruise!

It's so much easier for us to get to the west coast from Australia.

Does anyone know if they are already taking bookings for 2008?
