From what I saw in the video, it seems like the sensation is seconds long, rather than minutes long (which is what I was worried about!) While I will probably take some Dramamine prior to riding the first time, I prefer not to have to do so, and I used to ride the old ST without it. (Though I might take a few minutes' break afterward before heading on with the rest of my park day.)
