And, wouldn't whatever ATM machine they were taken to have gotten photos of them and their abductors?

Sheesh. Sometimes I forget how jaded I can be.

This way it will at the most be a subject of topic for Disney boards for a few days and then the story will die completely. Rather than the alternative, several stories about how the Sheriff hasn't found the theives, thus implying Downtown Disney is an unsafe area.

Not that it couldn't happen there as it surely could - but if one is unwilling to submit to questioning on it, it raises my suspicion level a heck of a lot

As someone who's been the victim of a crime, I can understand why someone might want to just let it go.

    Why?

Because our criminal justice system (much like our healthcare system and on and on) is very broken.

Victims are often made to feel like they did something wrong by police and authorities and then dealing with lawyers is always a pleasure.

And even if you do that, there's always the risk that somebody will track you down at home and murder you in your bed (like what recently happened here in SoFla when a woman who was robbed at work was killed by someone associated with the thieves).

It's not an easy thing ...

And, yes, sometimes victims aren't really victims and make stories up .. is that the case here? I don't know. But I don't assume anything in today's world.
