I was invited to take a private tour of Disney Studios in Burbank because of how often I wrote to the Fan Mail department. Well, I decided that I wanted to do a project about renewing my love for all things Disney. I am calling it "The Disney 50." I am going to watch all 50 Disney animated classics (Tangled, of course, in November) in chronological order and blog about the experience. I'm hoping my viewings of the entire canon as an adult will give me some interesting insight that I didn't have as a child...but also remind me why I loved it so much as a kid. Anyway, I hope you'll check out the project and offer your thoughts! http://thedisney50.wordpress.com/ Thanks! Matt

Snow White through Tangled (when it comes out in November). I put up the Pinocchio post today. Enjoy!!

It's a great idea. Your version of the project sounds better than mine anyway, since you get to only watch quality stuff. You aren't forcing yourself to endure the pile of TV-based trash that came out in the mid 80s. I never thought I'd be so happy to see The Black Cauldron! I've got two books that I've found invaluable and that don't leave the side of my TV chair - Leonard Maltin's "The Disney Films" and Jerry Beck's "The Animated Movie Guide." Get 'em if you don't already have 'em. I will be an avid reader of your blog, and I really look forward to future installments.

It's such a beautiful, yet heart breaking sequence. I think I owe Dumbo a re-watch now.

He made me play Donald-and-the-llama over and over ad nauseum. And the pile of dirt in the backyard became Mount Aconcagua. You never know what will capture a kid's imagination. And every film has somebody who loves it. Now, Caballeros, I love! Panchito and Jose are among my favorite characters ever. The film's end, when it gets really, *really* Ward-Kimbell-whacked-out, the part that critics always call wonderfully innovative, is when I lose interest.
