As always... a great time was had by all (as much as I hate to pay extra for this event which should be offered to all guests at daytime rates). The party itself was fun, however, there was not much that was new or unexpected when compared to previous years.. We got treated to the same HalloWishes fireworks we have seen before and practically the same "Boo-To-You" parade we saw last year as well. The "Halloween Mix and Mingle" castle show was also a repeat of last year's, and basically a tribute to DLP's halloween song from their past events.
The parade however, appeared to include one float I do not recall seeing before.. the crocodile following the Pirate ship.

I must comment on the new decor which was very nice (still not as lavish as what we get to see in the other DL parks, especially TDL) but a very nice and upgraded effort to the previous "Walmart Crafts" assesories they placed around Main Street. I was particularly impressed by the Pluto and Donald statues in the Hub, which, for added fun, are lit up at night in color changing lights. Nice touch for the MK!

In fact, I also noticed, and enjoyed greatly, the new lighting system they have installed for the event, which allows the MK, and especially Main Street to a nice and ever-changing light color show. Same system also lights up the train tracks behind the Toontown area and looks very nice.

The Candy was plentiful, but not distributed uniformly. Sometimes, one CM would give out 2-3 candies at once, but the next CM would give out a handfull. I think they need to be more uniformed in this matter. This year's selection and brands were great! I got skittles!! YEAH!

The merchandise for the event this year was blah.. basically because I am sick and tired of the Pirate motif. Even the party-exclusive Mickey plush was a "Pirate" plush, which was odd since Mickey did not appear in Pirate costume anywhere as far as I know. The tee shirt was nice, but again, shows Mickey as Sparrow on a parade float, which was not the case in the actual parade.
As always... the parade-preshow headless horseman was a highlight, as was listening to halloween/villains related music from all other DL parks..blasting over the PA system all over the park, but I have to admit that sometimes.. the choice of music was odd and not proper for the theme of the event. Then, there were the party exclusive pins... which I noticed were sold in some locations on Main Street, making them more readily available to guests interested in them. In previous years, they forced pin traders to go to Town Square to buy the new night pin, then force them to do another line at the pin shop further down Main Street for left-over previous night pins. Having all party pins available in one location was an improvement and made it easy for guests to get their pins for the event. Kudos.

I took these pictures and sadly, left my tripod at home. Therefore, many shots came out a bit blurry and some way too dark. The parade/pyro/castle show were particularly tough to photograph with my cheap camera, so apologies in advance.

All in all, the halloween party continues to amuse, even if some offerings could use some revisions for next year.. I definitely advise anyone to attend this party if they happen to be at the MK during Halloween time.

Here are the photos, with some captions to go along... enjoy!

And, yeah, I forgot to mention the statues in the Hub, very kewl and I didn't even know they had special lighting on them.

I did notice the lighting setup in Toontown from the train yesterday.

All of the merchandise you mentioned above in your post was bought at Tokyo Disneyland...not the MK. You won't find that stuff in FL. Plus the cute pumpkin you mentioned is not for treats, but a light up lantern.

"Cheap" camera or not, I think they are wonderful. I LOVE the photos of the castle...you have such a good photographic "eye" as well as a gift for writing..perhaps a second career when you retire from the skies?
Look forward to experiencing this party myself in a few days...
Also, thanks for all of the help and insight you give.
