While it was never a secret, she officially came out to the press a few months ago. We were expecting an onslaught of posts (at least from AfterEllen.com readers. LOL) but there was absolutely nothing other than a few "finally!" comments, etc. And her subsequent tour was just as successful as they all are. In fact, she just filmed Austin City Limits last night and was asked to play at the Grand Ole Opry. I think that each time an artist comes out, it becomes just a teeny bit less shocking and, if it's someone who is respected, gets people to re-think their views just a little bit. Hopefully someday it won't matter at all but I'm thankful for the really brave people who had the guts to come out when the climate wasn't as friendly.

I believe he was focusing his attention on putting an end to child trafficking in foreign countries.
