This way , lets day you go to the parks 6 times and 1 water park this trip.. without the expiration option you lose what's left. With it you keep them - and have that for next trip. We had 10 day hoppers no expiration a year ago - we have now used all the park entries but have 5 water parks left on each. So the next time we have to buy media for a trip - we don't have to buy the plus tickets - we can purchase parks only. the only down side is keeping your old cards also ( the ones with only the water parks left) - gets cumbersome but for the savings well worth it. I now have an AP as DVc discounted them and made them worthwhile for me ...I do not have the plus AP - just parks only as I still have like 4 water park entries left on old hopper packages I hope that helps....

The water park and more option does not effect the base ticket. As you may have seen, effective tomorrow, all tickets will see a price hike. It doesn't have too much of an impact of 10 day tickets (I think $6.00 more a ticket and $5.00 more for the park hopper option than before), but if you know that is what you want, purchase them today.

That is a great idea. You save over $50 per ticket on a 10-day Magic Your Way Premium pass purchases in advance on the web.

But frankly, I can't even imagine going to the parks that many days during one vacation. Our February trip to WDW was 10 days and we were in the parks every one of those ten days. At the end of our trip we had definitely had enough. I think a 10 day ticket for a 15 day trip sounds about perfect.

I've found that generally NOT to be the case which is one of the reasons I joined DVC.

Also, if I'm set on staying at the Poly, I'm not sure that a big discount at the Beach Club is going to be worth much to me. Can the AP discounts be a good deal? Yes, for people like you who live close enough that you have more flexibility in your plans. Not so much for people like me.

Of course an AP rate would yield savings that would automatically pay for the difference, but as RT points out, there is always the possibility it may not be available.

As far as getting an AP for the discounts, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be any discount (especially at the value resorts) during Easter and we are doing the dining plan which I think is a better deal than the AP discount and when you stay on property you get free parking anyway. Thanks so much for everyone's well wishes and input. I am so glad I found this sight!

No ones fault, just the nature of the internet age. It makes me grin that Disney is now offering AP rates for only $5 less than what anyone can get. Disney should employ this strategy to more of the programs that they let get away from them.
