It's a convention resort, but the conventioneers have their own area and don't bother the regular guests too much. Great hotel!

All kidding aside it really is our fave mod and our 2nd fave over all. We believe we get the biggest bang for our buck here. The pool has a dragon slide that seems to be well liked by the kids. The nice thing is that at the end of a long day in the parks(and might I add very hot since you're going in July)it's nice to get off the bus and know that even the last bldg is a very short walk. Actually all the mods are pretty nice so which ever you pick I bet you'll be happy. I suggest you go to allears.com it has a wonderful section with many picks and all the info you could ever want. Sit down with the girls and see what excites them it will make them part of planning and enhance their experience.
Originally Posted By dennis-in-ct <<They have a great food court>> Love the Coronado food court too. The real metal silverware with cloth napkins up the ante. It is a nice contrast to the plastic sporks and paper napkins in the other moderates (just like a school cafe). The Coronado food court feels more adult and civilized. The lake at Coronado is so big and the rooms surround this massive water feature. I can imagine a large centerpiece in the lake (some building) with bridges meeting in the center from all around the lake. It would offer some beautiful eye candy to the resort and offer some much needed short-cuts in getting around this resort - especially the CASITAS buildings on the far side. I also agree that POFQ is a true gem and the downtown area in PORS has the feel of staying in Frontierland. Carribean Beach is my least favorite but even THAT is nice (no bar though). Pick a theme you like and ENJOY ! It's all good.

I may have leaned toward PORS - but DH reminded me that was Dixe Landings and we have stayed there. Does anyone one know if it has changed much since then or is the change in name only. (I think it was the pool that hooked them!) Both POFQ and CBR were having their main pools refurbed in Feb. If that mattes to you you;ll want ot check and see when they should be done. CMs at CBR told us theirs was doubling in size (it was pretty big before) and getting a few more waterslides and a much larger hot tub. The other little pools are still nice but in the Aug they felt like bath water and weren't very refreshing. I'm assuming it's bacause they are so much smaller.

A really stupid name change, if you ask me. But if they had to change, why not something completely different, instead of tying it in to Port Orleans, making them the same, but not really but different? Dumb.
