We have stayed on property since and encountered virtually no mosquitos. How do they do it? I have never seen any insect control trucks or anything and there is standing water everywhere. Is it Magic?

I live in the South and that's standard procedure for any decent municipality here. I'm sure it's very toxic, but it works well.

Where's Lee Cockerell when you need some Disney spin?

Oh yeah, he's promoting his new book.

I don't know about WDW, but at DL there are a ton of bees on the flowers. I noticed over the summer that there were pretty flower beds all over the place, so I decided to take a couple pictures of them. After focusing on the beds for only a few seconds, I quickly realized that they were moving constantly, as there were bees all over them. I would say that there was probably one bee for every 3 or 4 flowers. They stayed hidden in the planters really well, and I never noticed them anywhere else in the parks. I'm sure if you look closely at WDW you'll see the same thing.

I remember as a kid when we used to ride our bikes about 20 feet behind the bug spraying truck as it drove through the neighborhood. We'd follow it everywhere! No negative effects here! LOL

If you look closely at Environmentality, I think you'll find a very close correlation between those efforts and those that save money. It's almost as if they're only concerned with increasing the bottom line, and using the environment as an excuse to justify certain cutbacks that affect the guest experience (such as not changing the towels and sheets every day in the hotels) in situations where they otherwise don't want to appear cheap. Good thing I'm not cynical!
