The Reedy Creek Improvement District, the semi-autonomous government that handles fire-rescue at Disney World along with Walt Disney World staffers are reviewing the response to Sunday's monorail outage that left passsengers stuck aboard the trains for several hours.

I think they need to invest and buy new trains, but Disney obviously doesn't agree.

However I do think the scrutiny they (and the rest of disney transportation) is under is not necessarily a bad thing. For as many issues as I've seen the 'rails have since July I would hope many people are looking long and hard about how much more stress the system can take.

Now that most of the issues the VIIs had at DLR seem to be worked out- one can hope its WDWs turn (and we get ones as pretty as DLRs)

You'd think with their intent to increase traffic to MK and the addition of a MK resort they'd be rethinking/upgrading its primary mode of transport.

If anything, they at least need that 12th train back.

I assume they wouldn't use a ladder truck, but one with a cherry-picker basket.

DLR's 'rails are not and never have been a form of "mass transportation" like WDWs are. So they are not designed to be able to carry 200+ guests at a time (because they don't) but it doesn't mean we can't get pretty ones that are as industrial as we need..
