One of my favorite parts of Horizons was the transition into the Omnisphere screens, and it was made more impressive because of the suspended ride vehicle. The score for the looping film was also second to none. I might also reverse the Nemo/Dreamflight ranking. When the angler fish doesn't work on Nemo, the attraction is substantially less impressive. After I rode it a second time, I realized I had remembered it being better than it really was. Too many static scenes. Good finale, but even that seems like they were holding back a little. Dreamflight, like Peoplemover, was a simple, unheralded ride, the kind that really added a lot to one's MK visit, even if they were only the cherry on top of an E-ticket sundae. They were relaxing rides that were great heat-of-the-day diversions. Nemo is the centerpiece of an Epcot pavilion. So given the different objectives of those two rides, I think Dreamflight was more successful. I regret that I never rode Inner Space but have seen photos and layouts for it. It seemed to have an abstract quality to it that I really admire. I wish more rides would go in that direction, but I guess that won't happen until we get a Fantasia dark ride. As for Buzz, it would be at the bottom of my list, too. For me, at least, Midway Mania has made Buzz Lightyear obsolete.

My U.S. Disney park favorites: 1) Haunted Mansion 2) Horizons 3) Journey Into Imagination (original) [Not a true Omnimover, but utilized similar technology] 4) Adventure Through Innerspace 5) Spaceship Earth 6) World of Motion 7) If You Had Wings/If You Could Fly 8) Dreamflight/Take Flight 9) The Seas With Nemo and Friends 10) Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters 11) Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin 12) The Living Seas Sea Cabs I'm very curious as to how the new Little Mermaid dark ride at DCA will be (and possibly the Magic Kingdom). I hope it can live up to all the hype!

If you were dispatched in independent cabins or cars and had the exact same show before you would you like it even more? I would.

They can not do a better job with what they have to work with but the omni system can distract us when we see other people in the long chain of doombuggies. Omnis remind me of processing the guest as if he is a wiget on an assembly line going through the different stages of production(show scene to show scene). I want my own pod, cabin, vehicle, train to take me from scene to scene so the ride speaks to +++ME+++ and or my close traveling companions and only me or us. I want to feel special or selected and be apart of the "infinite" amount of riders on a never ending chain. with something like Buzz it is not a big deal because everyone is busy working on targets and lose sight of the show(the reason I rank Buzz last. It has a lousy show)

Omni systems suck eggs.

While I'm sure most people would enjoy spending the ride alone or with just their friends, and family, I think that would be a very inefficient way to run a theme park.

Splash Mountain at WDW, Dinosaur, IJ and Test Track service many in an hour but do not need an omni. Those Thunder Mountain trains process guests very efficiently also. And how about those rafts at Kali rapids. They have been known to process the crowds on hot days. the omni is very good at handling crowds but so are the ones I named which are independent boats, rafts, cars, trains and transports.

Originally Posted By LoyalOrderWaterBuffa ~~~~when you have to ride Pirates or Splash with strangers doesn't that have the same effect as seeing other ride vehicles on an omnimover?~~~~ Good question not so much is my answer because the feeling is just one boat load of people on the Pirates, 5 others on Test Track and 11 others on Dinosaur. In other words finite numbers. Finite small numbers at that. But the omnis give the feeling of infinite or perpetual numbers as if each guest is insignificant. Like I said earlier ideally I want the ride to speak to me and not treat me like I am a wiget on the assembly line. I like the intimacy of loading onto the service elevators at Towers Terror and the 4 man team in the Mission Space pods better. I have no problem with crowds and I really like shows and big arenas but ideally on a ride I prefer riding in a sub like Nemo's Sea at Disneyland or getting on a hang glider over California or a tobaggon down some icy slopes more than sitting on a conveyor. Do not get me wrong because I super duper love Haunted Mansions and the Horizons but I just prefer a different ride system.
