Mousekeeping problems?

We stayed at WL for 10 days last year and I don't remember having any issues. We like to come back in the afternoon and swim and take naps before heading back out.

    Not quite sure about that as my Mum just returned from 10 days at the Grand Floridian and had similar issues. The room was always cleaned well, but never in the morning.

Perhaps the location of your room happened to be such that it was among the last cleaned during the shift. But as long as it got cleaned each day, I don't see this as a sign of a service downgrade.

    One daughter stayed at Carribean and she had towel animals too. But she had the shampoo & conditioner combined in one, we had separate bottles. Of course people in the GF got super dooper bottles of higher quality "stuff." Maybe you do get what you pay for.

    There is such a difference between deluxe and value resorts. Especially in service. We had such a great time last year at WL. I guess it's just hard to measure All Star Sports to WL. That's all I'm saying.

    I do agree with you on rotating the times for cleaning.

    I still recall an awful experience at ASMu back in 1997 when Percy the housekeeper called every morning at 8:30- 9 a.m. when the do not disturb sign was on to ask if we wanted service. The first day I thought it was rude and dumb, but didn't complain because I didn't expect a repeat. When it came the second day, I was a bit nasty to the guy (I sleep in on trips) and then called and complained to Guest Services (who took it very nonchalantly) ... and sure enough on the third morning (and last) he did it again.

    I wound up having a non-magical discussion in the lobby (it was bad service) and I finally got one night's stay credited back.

    But overall, I haven't noticed much difference between a value, a mod or a deluxe in terms of time or quality of Mousekeeping.

I did speak to a manager, who was all of 25 years old I think, and he could have cared less. His excuse even back then..."well we are short staffed!" I also wrote a very nice letter, not attacking but pointing out some of my concerns and received a very generic voice message from WDW from someone who did not even leave his name. Since that experience I really have had no reason to rush back to WDW. Oh I will someday, but the anticipation and excitement of a WDW vacation just is not there right now, even after two years. Things will never be what they used to be at Disney and that's too bad.
