And, when a new ride opens at any park, I am usually first in line to attend. Recent attractions I LOVE include Soarin (love Epcots set-up), Rockin Roller Coaster, Indy, Fantasmic, TOT. Though, I must say that, WDW has hit a trifecta of simply dreadful recent attractions. First off, Stitch Encounter. What a MAJOR step down from Alien Encounter. So, what AE scared children - THEY DONT NEED TO GO ON! They have Mickey's Fair, Winnie the Pooh land, Dumbos, etc, ALL attractions most adults only tolerate for the little ones, so, why could they not tolerate to wait outside while adults have a little fun on a scary ride? Or better yet, take them on AE, make them a man! Anyway, Stich is simply a lame, boring attraction. Over at Epcot, Mission Space. You have got to be kidding me. It makes me sick. I have NO desire to ever go on this again (while I LOVE Test Track - so original and innovative!). MS is an utter failure which will date poorly in a couple of years. Then, there is EE at AK. ANd, I must say that, after riding this ride, I can honestly say that, THUNDER is a better ride! Better themed! More dramatic! More exhilirating. EE is a short ride with little themeing (where's the sound effects? Where the animation? Yeti is ok, BUT, nowhere close to the worlds largest AA, which can be seen at Disney Seas a creature buried deep within the superior Journey to the Center of the Earth) EE is an utter failure when you go up the chain into the anti-climatic drop that takes you to the "end of the track", where you sit for a GOOD 10 seconds while the track switches behind you DOING NOTHING! I mean, what an incredible moment for a gargantuan Audio Animatronic sequence! All we get is a fake, non-moving bird on a sitck! Then, the ride goes bakwards, which, is now a very old concept (been there done this on Zoomerang, Circus World, back in the 70's, Deja Vu, 6 Flags, Mummy USH, I could go on). Then, the ride goes forward for the finale which is dark and lame. SPACE MOUNTAIN, built in the 70's, MUCH better! So, WDI, is this all you have in you? This coaster that is slightly better then the antiquated Mine Train at 6 Flags Over Georgia? What a waste of time! A friend offer a FP after I rode the first time and I said, thanks, but no thanks. EE - NOT worth the vacation and anyone who says it is is merely settling for mediocrity!

Not everyone is going to like everything and there is no reason to try and persuade someone either way. However, I hate when people try and insinuate that my opinion is wrong or not worthwhile. I do take offense to the insinuation that I'm simply "settling for mediocrity", because I truly do believe Everest is an amazing attraction from beginning to end.

That way you come across more like someone who cares enough about something to wish it were better, instead of the old coot down the block who hollers at kids to "Get off'n my lawn!" There's GOT to be something nice you can say about EE.

My god, its been used at TEMPLE DE PERIL at DLP for 12 years!!! Then u go backwards in the DARK. No lighting, no icicles, no fake base camps, etc. Then the LAME shadow effect. not to mention we see him breaking the track AFTER weve already seen a broken track! And then of course we zoom by him at Mock10, which makes u think what was the purpose of such an amibitous AA when we will barely see him. They hyped it that we were going to have this Kong-like encounted w/ teh Yeti, But alas, no.....

LSS-long story short--this morning, on page one of the Sentinel, was an article that stated that Florida lead the country yet again with new population growth, 400,000 last year, and job growth, 50,000 new jobs last year just in Orlando) which I knew as this is my area of expertise. This is exactly why Orlando is the ONE place in the U.S where there is NO real estate bubble as common sense dictates as all these people with jobs have to live someplace. Well some rocket scientist said yesterday that Orlando real estate values have tanked! Now that idiocy is tough for even open-minded me to take. Like Dr. Phil said several years ago, some people are just plain nuts. I did alert the mod on a word in the title of this thread as it offends me on a disney site to have that word no matter WHAT side of the bed that poster woke up on.

I would love to hear a criticism backed up with more than just this ride sucks because another park is better and has a better version of the ride, is cleaner, has better food, has better quality this, more merchandise that, higher "class" people, better hotels blah blah blah. I mean of course everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's great, but why not give a real backed up opinion rather than trashing something because you have access to bigger and better? I think expecting everything to live up to the best Disney has ever done will lead to disappointment and burn out of ANYTHING new in any of the parks. I respect everyone's opinion here, but I was a little disappointed to read the post after seeing the topic title. I thought there would be a great debate and turns out it was just more of the "neener neener syndrome."

I wont Ride Tower of Terror, It makes me Ill, I dont bash it I dont Say it sucks I just dont go on. EE - I'm going in Nov to ride EE I cant wait. You say its not thrilling enough (maybe Disney was worried about your tummy being to sensitive from M:S). If it was too rough there would be people complaining about that too. Stitch - Who am I kidding there is no defending Stitch

Its not as if I expect Disney to build the fastest, largest, tallest, bestist roller coaster in the world. I just want good. I think EE fits the bill. Its perfectly suited for DAK and I think the world is going to love it!
