Anyway, the memorable two-part movie by Irwin Allen features a lot of his movie alumni (wife Sheila, Red Buttons, Ernest Borgnine, Ernie Orsatti, Shelley Winters), as well as Natalie "Oliver & Company" Gregory in the title role, Sammy Davis Jr. as the Caterpillar, Carol Channing as the White Queen, Harvey Korman as the White King, Ann Jillian as the Red Queen and Scott Baio as Pat the Guinea Pig. One of my favorite versions since it included just about all of the characters and made the Jabberwocky a force to be reckoned with. I still have this on Beta, btw. Jam tomorrow, Jam yesterday, But neva eva Jam todaaaaaaaay! http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ ct/B000FSME7O/sr=1-1/qid=1154579596/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-8094372-6539807?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

It's kind of interesting how little some of these parts were, like Shelley Winters as the Dodo Bird or Donald O'Connor as the Lory Bird. Even George Gobel as the Gnat. I mean, he goes through all that makeup and gets a few measly lines in there and then that's it. Don't forget that John Stamos plays the White King's messenger. In the novel, the messenger is Haigha, who is actually an Anglo-Saxon version of the March Hare. I believe this was released on video years ago, but not together; in other words in AIW, Alice is seen running towards her house and then the final page of the book is shown onscreen. I've mentioned this other times before, but I find it odd that the Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse are considered Alice's best friends, when they actually treated her the worst than any other character in Wonderland/Looking Glass Land. What other versions of Alice have you seen and enjoyed? I've seen the Disney one dozens of times and have it on VHS and DVD. The Muppets 30th Anniversary was taped over the PBS airing of the Richard and Kate Burton AIW (featuring Maureen Stapleton, Geoffrey Holder and James Coco). Years ago on HBO I saw the 1972 Fiona Fullerton version, and I was unimpressed with the '99 version with Whoopi Goldberg and Martin Short. And then there was that animated version shown on Nickelodeon on their Special Delivery on the weekends.

He then appeared at the beginning of the next season, and was a series regular again. >>What other versions of Alice have you seen and enjoyed?<< Cameron, my ds, has become somewhat obsessed with different versions of Alice in Wonderland. We have about four different ones, and have rented several others. Some are quite dreadful, and some surprisingly good. We will certainly rent, and possibly buy, this one. BTW, have you heard about the play Lobster Alice? It is currently playing here in LA. It deals with the months that Salvador Dali was working at the Disney Studio. http://www.calendarlive.com/st age/cl-et-lobster31jul31,0,3677916.story?coll=cl-home-more-channels
