I've seen many reviews online and they almost universally agree that the song "When Love Is Gone" is an essential element to the emotional core of the movie. We see the great Michael Caine as Scrooge do a complete character turnaround during this part. And it also helps the story make a little more sense. However, from what I've found out, the only edition of "The Muppet Christmas Carol" that has this song (besides the VHS version) is the 20th anniversary DVD edition. But the song is only on the fullscreen version (there's also a widescreen one) and in a very mediocre print. To me, it's not worth trying to find this DVD if we can't have the full product in a good quality. I have the VHS version with the full and complete movie, but VHS tapes and players won't last forever. And it's not as if it's so easy to convert a copy-protected VHS movie to DVD. Oh and don't mention looking for the film on Netflix. No use even trying. They cut it out of that one as well. This movie is one of the best, if not THE best, that the Muppet studios ever did. It has a lot of heart, something most of the other Muppet movies kind of lack. And it gets a lot of its heart because of that beautiful song. So if any of you in charge at Disney are reading this, cut out all this BS. Please re-release the FULL and COMPLETE version of "The Muppet Christmas Carol". And STOP trying to improve upon perfection. You've done more than enough damage.
