Cinematical had a pretty cool interview with him about all the changes from Tron to Tron: Legacy. Check it out: <a href="http://www.cinematical.com/2010/08/04/tron-creator-steven-lisberger-interview/" target="_blank">http://www.cinematical.com/201...terview/</a>

Originally Posted By davewasbaloo TRON was an inspiration to me when the original came out. A life changer like Star Wars. Besides the very cool traditional story between good and evil, and the awesome at the time never been done before graphics, it really made me want to learn more about ICT. And in fact, the first part of my career was in IT, I think a large part being because of TRON. I also suspect that without TRON we would not have had the MAtrix, and we all know TRON was a huge influence on John Lasseter, so Pixar has enriched our lives due to this movie. When TRON Legacy was announced, I was sceptical. With so many CGI movies these days, would it have the draw of the original? The story had been emulated to a degree by the Matrix, and modern audience might look for parallels. And I have not been too enamoured with Disney's recent efforts. It seemed like a cash in, which really is what I would say Iger's reign has been about. But then I saw the first trailer.... I was hooked. Every trailer I have seen gets me more and more excited. The light cycle scenes, the younger Flynn (and older Flynn), the interesting dynamic of Flynn's son feeling abandoned for years and then being drawn into the MCP, the high res deadly disks elements, the battle tanks. I hope they get it right. This is the first movie however where I have vowed to make an 80 mile journey to see it on IMAX 3D - I normally wait for movies to come out on DVD or Cable/Sat TV. Fingers crossed.
