I've lived here for 16 years and I still love it. As far as the meet goes I am tentatively going to plan for December 15th for a lunchtime meet. That way it gives everyone plenty of advanced notice and doesn't really interfear with anyones Saturday night plans. We can pick a location when we get people confirmed.
