Disney began production today on “Saving Mr. Banks,” the account of Walt Disney’s twenty-year pursuit of the film rights to P.L. Travers’ popular novel, Mary Poppins, and the testy partnership the upbeat filmmaker develops with the uptight author during the project’s pre-production in 1961.

    Is this the one?

    Oh no!

I certainly hope this is just one of those "bad moments" during pre-production ... that does not represent how Mr. Hanks pulls off Walt.

I seriously would like to know why the casting department did not consider Jean Dujardin for the role of Walt. He certainly would have pulled Walt off better than Tom Hanks:

    http://www.cinemaseries.es/wp-...tist.jpg

I can only think of two reasons to not choose Jean. Unable to pull off a convincing American accent. Or unavailable due to other commitments.

    PERFECT CASTING!

It's already been proven Jean can dance - as shown in The Artist.

Now if Warner Brothers would think about it .. before Jean gets too old ... that would nice.

I've googled for a pic of Tom Hanks in make-up. I see nothing. 999Haunts ... if the photo you saw is online .. please point us in the right direction. Thanks.

I'm anxious to see how Tom Hanks will do in this role. He certainly wasn't the first person that came to mind to play Walt in his older years (actually, I can't think of anyone "born" to play that part as Walt was such a unique mid-western guy), but it'll be fun to see what he does with it.

Maybe it could be written from Roy's Point Of View. Starting on the day Walt died in 1966, and working in flashbacks.
