How long should I plan to spend if we want to see Laser man, get a drink, dance/people watch for a song or two, play some old school games and watch Tron? Will that take us (five adults) the whole night or can we do that in an hour, hour and a half?

Plan to spend at least an hour or more.

I guess we will miss the opening show, even at 6:45, but hopefully we will still get to see Laserman. I know it's pushing it to hope to see the projections on Space and the ElecTRONica stuff on the same night, but knowing that the party is going on until closing at DCA makes things easier. : )

You might be out a little later that way, but it will ensure that you get to do everything you want to.

Well, depending on Laserman's schedule. And with limited time, skipping the opening is not much of a loss. I like ElecTRONica better, but I think I preferred the Glowfest opening (but then, I have a soft spot for Bollywood...and that opening even included some Daft Punk).
Originally Posted By Dalia3001 Cool, thanks for the input, that was really helpful. If anyone happens to know what time the projections start at Space Mtn, that would be great information to have. Thank you everyone!

The opening show draws a huge crowd so it's hard to get close unless you get there fairly early. I had a decent view from standing on the concrete benches, but can't say it's a don't-miss. I would say that about the party tho - and Laserman!

There are a couple things that only come once in the cycle, but they aren't really worth waiting for specifically. The projections are really neat, but I don't think seeing the entire loop is really necessary. And for what it's worth, on Sunday Laserman performed at 7:15 and 8:30. I'm not sure, but he may have done a third show (the park closed at 10:00). It was raining, so things might have gotten changed a little, but it sounded like his first two shows are pretty much set in stone, and they are both the same routine. He performs on the stage that's occasionally used by Drawn to Animation and random dance troupes.

Another wife and I are meeting the guys Saturday night, and Sunday and Monday we are all going to the parks. Since we're all sort of from the era of the original Tron (although I never saw it) and we all are video game players, Sci-Fi lovers, and lovers of a nice cocktail, ElecTRONica is one part of our trip that all of us are looking forward to!

My biggest concern with them is how they secretly pack a real punch. They don't taste strong, but when they hit you, it's clear that they are powerful drinks. It seems to take a little longer than other drinks (which can be disasterous if you decide to get another round before it hits you!), but it stays with you for a long time. A couple of my friends said that they got headaches from them, but I think that was more of a morning-after hangover type deal. Personally, they don't give me any bad effects. Maybe that's why I have 13 of those ice cubes, and a pair of swizzle sticks (counting Glow Fest too).

If I have it in me, I'll go for the cocktail. : )

Would it be faster to take the train to the Main Street station because of the parade, or will we be able to get through the crowds and out of the park without too much trouble even if the parade is going on?

You might want to consider pushing everything an hour later. Or, as someone upthread suggested, doing the DCA stuff first and then going back to DL for the projections (you'll still be able to use your Fastpasses then). Can't help you with the parade. But it's not a particularly popular parade, so you might be able to navigate around it.
