In fact I do not even think it is against any rules as long as the military person buys them. Check also for "Military Days" in the early spring. Several times the past few years they have allowed active military in for free and family members get a substantial discount. (I do not remember exactly but it was like a two day hopper for $35.) These tickets are only available at the gate and the active military personel has to purchase them.
