I have been planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort to take place June 6-13. We are just missing the grand opening of Carsland, but since we are traveling with two young children, my niece and nephew ages 3 and 6 along with their parents, and since all adults involved are in desperate need of some actual restful vacation time, that might be a blessing in disguise.

All that being said, I just joined D23 in hopes of being able to score some tickets to the June 9th preview of Buena Vista Street and Carsland. I am pretty excited about this, and hope to get tickets for the event from 1:00PM -5:00PM on the 9th, for me and my husband. However, my D23 membership is not yet being recognized on the site, and it says this could take a few business days.

Does anyone have any idea how long these things usually take to process?

And does anyone know how likely this event is to sell out in the next few days before I'm able to hopefully get some passes?

Also, from what I've gathered on the disneyland website, there are four hour blocks of time for each ticket purchase. Does that mean that I should be there right at 1:00PM or earlier for the opening of my window to arrive in time for some sort of tour or presentation? Or can we just enter the area at any time during that window?

Lastly, does anyone think there might be soft openings of any attractions, (i.e. Radiator Springs Racers) during these events? I know they aren't being advertised, but I have to admit I'm feeling a little bit hopeful.

We are planning on being in the parks only in the mornings, from Early Entry through around lunch, then relaxing at the DLH for the rest of the afternoons. I guess I've given up on Disneyland's nighttime entertainment. I was one of the people shafted by overbooked World of Color dining, having paid for premium viewing and then experiencing such a delay at dinner that I couldn't see the show at all because we were stuck in a terrible spot. I love Fantasmic!, but I hate fighting crowds to come back in the evening, and this time around, when my husband's and my work schedules are kicking our butts, we are instead planning some nice meals at the hotels, (yay Napa Rose for my birthday!), and hoping to really enjoy the new pool and Tiki restaurant.

As for the rest, it sounds like a good plan to just enjoy the early part of the day, and relax for the rest. If you're a spa person, take some time to use the spa at the Grand.

I think I got lucky; my number worked the last time I tried and I was able to purchase two passes!!!

After rereading the fine print a few times, I believe that we will be able to enter the area at any time during the window of time available; in our case from 1:00-5:00. If anyone has any input into how these things work, i.e. is there any reason to show up before 1:00 to line up early, that would be really helpful. I have reservations with my family at Ariel's Grotto at 12:00, and am wondering if I should look into changing them or if wandering over at 1:00ish would be OK.

The spa at the Grand sounds like a great idea. I have looked into making reservations there a couple of times, but never have done so. This may well be the trip to do so!

In a moment of stupidity and distraction, I accidentally booked tickets for the 9th, forgetting I had other unchangeable plans on the 9th, and needed to get tickets for the 10th. With no phone number anywhere to be seen, and explicit language that all tickets were unchangeable and unrefundable I began to despair. I send an email to the general help email address provided, and low and behold, a few business days later they got back to me with a new confirmation number for tickets for the 10th.

    I am so happy!!!

Thank you D23 Customer Service !!!
