The ToT and I have a unique fanboy relationship (and no we're not listed as "it's complicated" on facebook.

The ToT seems to be one of the last breaths of "we really can do it" by WDI and TDO.

I remember first hearing about it in school in 1994 when it was nearing completion and opening. I watched commercials and previews of it in 1995 on episodes of Disney Inside Out and it was the first Disney ride I ever went on in December 1996.

Somehow childhood nostalgia and Disney details has intrigued me for years, and while I have nothing much to discuss, I just wanted to say how great it is to still experience a true Disney attraction with excellent detail, attraction specific merchandise, theming everywhere and CM who stay in character.

My favorite part when I rode on thursday was listening to Vera Lynn sing "we'll meet again" heard over the hotel loudspeakers in the queue.

It was also the first time I met the CM who has worked at ToT for years. He can be seen in various travel channel shows greeting and interacting with guests.

Also, we e-stopped at the very end. We were in foxtrot and were stuck in the "basement" for nearly 10 minutes with the lights on, and then they gave us a complimentary ride.

It amazes me in an era of generic merchandise, laugh floor, and duffy...this attraction which would be a no-brainer of quality at international disney parks still lives on in florida with it's full theme and details. It was a joy experiencing it earlier this week.

To this day, we still regret not purchasing the photo.

I too think it a classic, and I love the differences of the other versions around the globe too (Paris is my fav version that I have ridden, really want to try Tokyo's).

I will never forget taking my two on for their first time (age 7 and 5 at the time). I tried to talk them out of it, explain it, etc. My daughter liked the ghosts and hated the drops, my son liked the drops and hated the ghosts. They both came off shaking making me feel like an abusive parent. But I figured how will they know they like something unless they tried. They skipped it the next trip. Lol

Little X rode it when she was 5 (I think...may have been 4!)...scared the crap out of

    ME!

Cause when we plummeted her little body flew right out of the seat (feet, legs, rear end and everything else! she was literally suspended in mid-air by the seat belt!), and all I could do was try and push her legs down in a panic as she screamed (luckily I was watching her!).

Well, she "claimed" that she liked it, but I seriously doubt it. That's one ride where height requirements might just need a little adjustment (perhaps a WEIGHT requirement for the kiddies...if your bum doesn't stay IN THE SEAT, you're too small to ride lol).

Why? They both liked it, no? ;)

***But I figured how will they know they like something unless they tried***

Is THAT why you're always giving them coffee and beer? lol

It shouldn't... I have a odd system of what I go on. LOL. I think I was right to skip it all those years, I definitely would not have been too thrilled with feeling sick when I was younger. Skipped lunch due to ToT.

Lol, yep, same for Jess, I had to hold her down. But a part of me was jealous of her for being able to get so much litteral air time.

And nope, they did not like it (though they both said they would like to try it as teenagers).

Yep. Thrill rides generally don't make me feel sick at all, but M:S left me with that motion sickness feeling in the gut for 30 minutes.
