There's no way to accidentally get something in the shot in animation, so somebody did it on purpose, whatever that purpose was. I suspect it may have been one of those things similar to Walt as Yensid in Fantasia, where it was kind of an honor, and semi-mocking at the same time. I have no idea, but my gut instinct would be that it was very much done on purpose.
