    I believe WDW challenged after 9/11 that their airspace should be protected due to terrorism concerns but they did not win the argument.

    There's more than one actually. They are tourist helicopter rides. You will see them fly over every park except MK. I did one once and got some great pictures of the parks from above. Well worth the cost, at least to me.

    They are usually red, but I noticed another color flying over on occasion.

    If it isn't the tour helicopter then it probably is connected with the construction going on and it is hauling stuff in overhead.

We are Disney characters, after all, and you'd be surprised at all the other characters who store their personal modes of transportation back stage, too! Aladdin always keeps his magic carpet back stage--not counting the fake ones in Adventureland--while Eglantine Price keeps her flying bed back stage, as well.
