I's love to represent all parts of the world, as I have students from all over (Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Iran, Bosnia, Japan, and China in addition to Mexico and France which now, thanks to hopemax I've got covered). Thanks again, hopemax!

We used the Spanish version and the French chorus, then my students' parents gave me their translations of "It's A Small World" in Tagalog, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese, which I wrote phonetically as best I could. My little 2nd graders sang beautifully without musical accompaniment, and everyone loved it!. (There are 10 different languages spoken by the families in my classroom and I decided rather than singing in the other languages on the ride, this would be a better way to honor the "Small World" in my own classroom.) I think it was the wonderful young man on the phone lines who pointed out that the lyrics were chosen to be easily translated into other languages, and what I also found was that most languages have their own version of this saying (in one, it was "The world is round", meaning the same thing, for example.) We had a great time! Thanks to all! You would think this song would be driving me crazy by now (one of the other teachers did get on me about it), but interestingly, I don't thnk I'll ever be bothered by it again, now that it is connected to this great experience.
