Water Ride at MGM Studios

Are there any plans to add any kind of water ride (Voyage of the Little Mermaid excluded) to Florida's Studios? Despite the Echo Lake area and scattered fountains throughout the area, there are not many wet places to cool off. That park always seems very hot due to the lack of any attraction or opportunity outside of bathing in a fountain or using the "Singin' in the Rain" prop to get wet.

Thoughts?

Ride on the left side of the Backstage Tram Tour. You're sure to get wet during Catastrophe Canyon. Aside from that and the oversized leaky garden hose in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playzone, there's not too many places to get wet at DHS. Perhaps they'll have a water ride someday, but not anything in the foreseable future...

I'm not a big fan of water rides... every 2-bit coaster park has one. AK has one with the Kali River Rapids and it needs it because of the lack of air conditioned areas in the park. The Studios has plenty of air conditioning... I don't really see the need.

I like this idea a lot. I personally hate raft rides or log drops where there's potential to get soaked. Probably because I often visit in Jan or Feb. But let's think along the lines of Pirates. A dark ride on water. Perhaps a Prince Caspian story sort of thing? Lot's of possibilities for scenes there with all the places they travel to. And Reapicheep (spell?!) would make a fantastic focus character throughout. Yes, I'd like one of those, please WDI!

Yes, because that's the only water ride they've done.

we touched on this recently....

....and I'm not sure what would be more 'fun' "squealing like a pig" on the river bank or spending the afternoon with Zed and Maynard in their pawnshop.

Grizzly is good from what I've heard.

But Kali sucks, IMO. It looks nice, but the ride is woefully short, and pales in comparison to Pop-eye's and Bluto's Bilgerat Barges at IoA.

I can't argue with your point about it being too short. It should have been noticeably longer for such a headliner type attraction. But I really like what is there---just wish that there was more of it.

Now that is the coolest rapids style ride on Earth--- full of props/sets/AA's, very long and loaded with huge rapids and swells. Popeye is an A+ effort.

Grizzly is pretty darned good. Kali is just totally anti-climatic.

Very sad to say that while I have visited IOA, due to a younger child at the time, I have not done Popeye and Bluto's. Will add it to the list when I am at HP.

Popeye is a great raft ride, but the one time I rode it I got soaked. As in I got off the ride and felt like I had jumped into a swimming pool. I don't know if my wife and I were just unlucky and on the wrong side of the raft, or if everyone gets drenched on the ride. But I really enjoyed the scenery on the ride. Definitely puts Kali to shame (or what I remember of it--never thought it warranted a second ride).
