    Anyone know when UEA is?

Does Columbus Day weekend draw large crowds? (can't remember if CA schools have that as a holiday)

Any other school breaks, etc to avoid?

    Thanks in advance!

That being said I am going on Columbus Day through the 14th and hoping that it won't be that bad, but have been asking and no one really knows so hopefully someone will get back to this thread.

Sounds like the entire month could be fairly crowded, I guess I'll just pick the day that works for me!

It also happens to be Thanksgiving Day in Canada, so except to see a lot of out of town guests that weekend.

And I have been at the park on CHOC day, there area lot of CHOC t-shirts in the park once the park opens at 10 AM. They might go home early, but many are locals with AP's (no blockout for all AP's except the SoCal Select) and many others get a free ticket to the park (for hitting a certain amount raised). It does make an impact on the park.

School teachers work for the state, but most schools up here do not get that day off of school. My mom who works for a bank gets it off though.

No, they work for and get paid by a School District. Yes, much of the money that supports and runs the school district comes from the State, but also has local sources in Property Taxes and from the Federal Government.

Each School District has its own school schedule and different days off in many cases, such as start and end dates, length and timing of Spring (formerly Easter) Break, etc.

When I say State Workers, I mean those who get a paycheck that has "State of California" in the upper right corner of their paycheck.

We have been visiting Disneyland during this time in early October for the past three years, it has always been fairly uncrowded at least on the weekdays (M, Tu, Wed). I recall DL being crowded on the weekend leading up to Columbus Day and with Gay Days Celebration so we would go to DCA on Friday and Saturday and it wasn't too bad there.
