I'm kind of disappointed to hear that it's still in the works, but glad that they are at least recognizing it as mostly live-action based.

He was wearing a familiar black mask, and had a pearl handled revolver tucked in his waistband. Sparrow offered the mask to Dick Cook, revealing that it really was Johnny Depp as Sparrow. As the crowd cheered, he offered Cook the revolver, they played around with the two props for a couple of minutes, and then Depp left the stage. No actual announcement was made, other than Cook's quip, "Wouldn't it be fun to make another pirate movie?"

On a related note, the band was originally supposed to march in while playing the Lone Ranger theme and march up onto the stage, but it startled the horse too much during the rehersal on Monday. Instead, they came in on drum cadence, and then played it standing in the aisle, perfectly still (all the usual visuals cut out). Funny that this happened, because USC's mascot Traveler just happens to be a lovely white horse who is very well behaved around the band, but for some reason they decided to go with a substitute horse for this event.
