I found the 3D effects to be an enhancement to the experience, not a distraction at all. There was really only one "gag," and that is well placed. Incidentally, anyone else notice that the voice of the droid delivering the safety spiel is Allison Janney? It has been confirmed that she is the voice os Aly San San, the safety droid. Not confirmed is that Jennifer Lewis, the original safety spieler (with the doughnuts on her head?) is seen, seated in the front row to the far right, in the new video. I think it was her, but I cannot be certain.

The picture of the empty overflow queue is simultaneously funny and pathetic. Guess they were hoping they could get some shots of people queuing up for several hours a la the opening of Harry Potter.
